Creamy Baked Pork Chops

Creamy Baked Pork Chops in a rich, creamy sauce served with garlic mashed potatoes is the ultimate dinner for any busy evening.

Pan-seared and oven-baked pork chops will make dinner a breeze and on the table in no time flat. These one-skillet pork chops are topped with a creamy mushroom sauce and are perfect for any dinner or special occasion.

I cook just about every night of the week. We are not a family big on eating out, and we prefer to eat at home. I like to cook. My family likes to eat. So, I guess that’s a good combination. Plus, I get to eat dinner in my pj’s, and that is super nice.

What Do I Cook for Dinner?

Trying to come up with different menu options is challenging. I know I’m not particularly fond of eating the same thing every week. I know my family likes variety as well. I do ask for suggestions, but I always seem to get the same answer–It doesn’t matter–just cook anything! Uuuuggghhh! So I do!

I like to cook with pork chops, and this recipe is one of the easiest ways to cook pork chops. They always come out fork-tender, and the creamy sauce is fabulous over the top of Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Make sure you have some bread with dinner because you will want to eat every last drop of this sauce.

The ingredients are simple, and the taste is huge. Sometimes less is more, and in this case, that is true!

What Kind of Skillet Do I Need?

I recommend using a cast-iron skillet. It can go from stovetop to oven, and I only mess up 1 skillet! 🙂 Cast iron is my favorite and the most used cooking item in my kitchen. My skillet gets used on a regular basis-several times a week. Sometimes I am guilty of using 2 skillets at the same time.

If you don’t have a cast-iron skillet–no worries–You can transfer your pork chops to a baking dish after they have seared. The end result will be the same.

Ingredients:

3-4 bone-in pork chops
2 tablespoons oil
Seasonings of choice. I used garlic powder, lemon pepper, and Lawry’s.
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can Cream of Mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk

Instructions:

Season both sides of your pork chops with your favorite seasonings. I used garlic powder, lemon pepper, and Lawry’s Seasoning. These are my three go-to seasonings. I’m not sure if you have used lemon pepper before, but I love to use this seasoning with pork. Season well.

Allow the skillet to heat over medium-high heat. Add oil and allow to get hot. Add pork chops to the skillet.
Brown 3-4 minutes on each side drain off excess grease. You are not cooking them completely- You are just browning them on both sides.

In a bowl mix together 1 can (10 1/2 ounce) Cream of Mushroom Soup and 1/2 cup milk. Stir until combined.

Pour soup mixture over pork chops. Cover skillet or baking dish with foil. Place in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Then uncover and continue baking for 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven.

I like to serve these Creamy Pork Chops over Garlic Mashed Potatoes. The sauce makes an excellent gravy for the potatoes.
