Homemade meatballs are awesome for this recipe! They are really easy to make and absolutely delicious! I like to keep some on hand in the freezer for times when time is tight, and I am scrambling to get dinner ready or an appetizer made. Homemade meatballs are tender and juicy and, most of all, delicious! The meatballs are topped with cheese and baked in a rich tomato sauce. Oh my!

But, if you don’t have time to make homemade meatballs–no worries. There are some delicious frozen meatballs in the freezer section of your local grocery store. Absolutely no judgment here if you go for the frozen kind. I completely understand how there are just not enough hours on some days to get everything done.

This is a super-fast recipe for me. I just grab those meatballs out of the freezer and warm them up, dump some sauce over the top and add some cheese. Boom! I let the oven do the rest of the work for me.

I believe you will find this recipe will become a family favorite. Everything about this dish yells comfort food.

Cooking Tips:

Homemade meatballs are awesome in this recipe. Feel free to make your own from scratch. Many people, including me at times, don’t have time to make all party food from scratch–especially during the holiday season. So, I take advantage of frozen meatballs from time to time. There are some really good frozen meatballs to choose from in the freezer aisle.

Choose your favorite spaghetti sauce. I love chunky spaghetti sauce. You decide and choose your favorite.

Cheese–While you could undoubtedly grate your cheese, pre-shredded cheese will save on time. The choice is yours.

Use an ovenproof skillet. If I can cook and serve from the same dish, fabulous! Less mess and less to clean up.
