Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 tablespoon oil/butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

Toasting Pecans on the Stovetop

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a nonstick skillet, add 1 cup pecans and 1/4 teaspoon of salt—Cook over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes stirring and flipping every minute until done. Cook until golden. You will begin to smell the toasted pecans, and you will know when they are done by the color and smell. Do Not walk away because they will burn quickly.

Toasting Pecans in the Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    Melt butter or use oil.
  • Place pecans in a single layer on the baking sheet and drizzle with butter or oil. Stir to ensure all pecans are evenly coated.
  • Roast in the oven for 7-10 minutes or until golden brown. About halfway through the cooking process, flip the pecans over.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and immediately sprinkle with salt.
  • Let cool completely. Store in an air-tight bag, jar or use as desired in a recipe.
