Combine buttermilk, eggs, and hot sauce in a bowl and mix well.
Add the cubed steak making sure it's completely submerged in the buttermilk. Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours if you have time. If not, no worries, continue on with the recipe and it will still be great.
In a bowl or large container, mix together flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cayenne. **If you like it spicier, add more seasonings. You may also need more flour so adjust as needed.
Take the cubed steaks out of the refrigerator (if you did this step). Dip steaks one at a time in flour mixture, coating both sides, then back again in marinade mixture and again in flour mixture.
Place on a baking sheet in a single layer while the oil heats.
Add oil to a cast iron skillet and heat over medium-high heat.
Once the oil is hot, fry each steak on both sides until golden brown.
Drain on paper towels. If desired, place on a parchment covered baking sheet and place in the oven to keep warm while you finish cooking the steaks.
