Blackened Salmon

Blackened Salmon makes a tasty dinner in about 15 minutes. Just brush with olive oil, add some seasoning, and drop in a hot skillet. You will have a quick and easy dinner for any night of the week.

My family loves Blackened Salmon. The first time I blackened fish, I was a little nervous. I thought I was totally going to ruin dinner, not to mention the money I had spent on the Salmon. But I finally got up my nerve and went for it! You talk about easy–This was super easy to make. Why had I waited so long to do this? Now, we not only have blackened salmon, but we also have shrimp and tilapia as well. I promise to share those with you later.

This recipe is super easy, and the Salmon is delicious! There is absolutely no reason why you can’t have this dish any night of the week. It’s quick, healthy, easy, and in 15 minutes, you are ready to eat.

I also cook with cast iron skillets most of the time. So I pulled out my cast iron grill pan for this Blackened Salmon recipe. Once you place the Salmon in the hot grill pan, in just minutes, it will magically have a sweet, spicy, and blackened crust that will make your mouth water. Don’t have a cast iron pan, no worries– pull out a large stainless steel skillet and continue with the recipe.

This Salmon is genuinely delicious, and it will taste like you ordered it from a restaurant.
Enjoy!

How to make Blackened Salmon

4oz. pieces of skinless Salmon fillets
Olive Oil
Old Bay Garlic & Herb Seasoning
Butter

1. Brush the salmon with olive oil coating well.
2. Sprinkle Old Bay Garlic & Herb Seasoning on Salmon.
3. Press seasoning into salmon and coat well.
4. Heat up a cast iron grill pan until it is HOT. Drop two tablespoons of butter into the skillet, and once melted, add the salmon. Cook on each side for 3-5 minutes. Do not move the fish. This will allow the fish to get a nice blackened coat. The time depends on how thick your fish is. Flip when it has blackened on the first side and cook the second side until it has blackened as well. I cooked my salmon for 4 minutes on each side until blackened. The cooking time depends on how thick your salmon is.

This is one of my favourite ways to cook salmon! The seasoning adds so much flavour and the salmon stays extremely moist and flakey! Thanks for the recipe 🙂
