Grilled Buffalo Chicken Tenders

Grilled Buffalo Chicken Tenders are chicken strips grilled and then dipped in a sweet and spicy homemade buffalo wing sauce. They are AwEsOmE!!

I’m not a big fan of grocery shopping. Yes, I like to eat, and so does my family, but going to the store and getting groceries is not one of my favorite “fun” things to do. I would rather be at Hobby Lobby, Target, visiting with my family, or just relaxing at home. But, my family has to eat, and I LOVE to cook, so grocery shopping is a must.

One of the items I always buy is chicken. Chicken thighs, chicken breast, chicken tenders… We eat a lot of chicken! There are so many different recipes you can make with chicken, and they all taste different.

One of my favorite ways to eat chicken is with Buffalo Sauce. Grilled Buffalo Chicken Tenders taste just like the ones you get in a restaurant-except mine taste better. (That was a compliment my family gave me, and I took it to heart.) Hey, it’s nice when your family brags on your cooking.

This recipe is super simple. It’s great not only for a weeknight meal but it’s perfect for those summertime meals when you don’t want to spend a lot of time in your kitchen.

It’s hard to beat grilled chicken covered in buffalo sauce. These are so easy to prepare, and you may find that it’s just as simple to make these at home instead of ordering take out from the restaurant.

My son loves grilled chicken that has been dipped in Buffalo Wing Sauce. He often orders it when he goes to a restaurant. Now, he can just use this recipe and make it from home. Plus, it’s a lot less expensive to make this dish at home from scratch.

What Ingredients Do I Need for Buffalo Chicken Tenders?

Ingredients for Buffalo Chicken Tenders
2# chicken tenders
1 cup hot sauce
1 stick of butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 Tablespoons Honey
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

How Do I Make Grilled Buffalo Chicken Tenders?

Prepare your grill. I usually cook these on medium heat. All grills are different, so find the medium temperature on yours and preheat.

Place chicken tenders on the grill and grill about 5-6 minutes per side for a total of 10-12 minutes **If you have small tenders, you may not need to cook this amount of time-adjust the time. If you have larger, thicker tenders–you may need to add another minute or two to the cooking time. Cook until the juices run clear.

While the chicken is cooking, start the sauce. In a saucepan, mix hot sauce, butter, brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Bring to a simmer and stir until butter and brown sugar have completely melted. Once the chicken has cooked, toss the chicken in the sauce and coat thoroughly. Eat immediately.

Tips for Adding the Sauce to the Grilled Tenders

I have found it is easier to place the chicken in a large container -with a tight-fitting lid- then pour the sauce over the chicken. This way will allow you to coat all of the chicken at one time.
Shake well. Pour the chicken on a baking pan or platter. Serve immediately.

  1. I’ll be making these fir sure! I love chicken wings in any and all flavors but was always afraid to make them at home. I thought it would be involved and messy! Your recipe seems easy and delicious. Thank you!

  2. Ooooh! These sounds amazing! I love buffalo, but my family are a bunch a wimps, lol! This sounds like it’d make all of us happy! I’m totally adding this to next week’s meal plan, thank you so much for sharing!

    1. I usually keep “Texas Pete” Hot Sauce in my pantry. Crystal Hot Sauce, Louisiana Hot Sauce, or any “red colored” hot sauce would work for this recipe. You are mainly going for flavor and not anything too hot. You want to kick it up a notch and not burn off your taste buds. 🙂 Enjoy!
