Broiled Spicy Party Shrimp
Broiled Spicy Party Shrimp only takes 8 minutes to cook. This will be a hit at your next party. Fresh shrimp are marinated in a mixture of Italian dressing, garlic, oil, and seasonings. They are broiled for only 8 minutes! You might want to make a double batch because these will go fast!
This recipe got me two thumbs up from my family. They loved it and requested me to make it again very soon.
My daughter loves shrimp. She could eat it several times a week if I cooked it for her. She loves it fried, grilled, baked, sauteed in garlic butter, and now broiled and spicy. I think she now has a new favorite shrimp dish.
If you are looking for a great appetizer, then this is it. This recipe is probably one of the easiest to make and serve. It goes very fast when served at a party or get together. You might want to make a double batch to keep everyone happy.
Peeling the shrimp is the only part that took some time. You can always ask a family member to help with this task and also do it in advance. OR you can buy the shrimp already peeled. This is another option if you know you might be short on time.
This is a Spicy Shrimp Appetizer
This is a spicy shrimp recipe. Please keep that in mind if you are serving this to others who might not have a tolerance for heat. My family loves the heat, so no issues for me. But, when I serve this at a party, I make a little place card with Spicy Shrimp to go with this dish. You may choose to decrease the amount of cayenne pepper or leave it out altogether. You decide.
Got Leftovers
This is rare for me to have any leftovers. If I do, I like to toss them in with a salad the next day or serve them over rice. They are wonderful as leftovers.
Want to Serve Spicy Shrimp for Dinner?
Yes! I have done this several times, and it is always a hit for dinner. My family likes spicy food, so there is no adjustment to this recipe for me. This goes great with buttered noodles, over fettuccine alfredo, over a salad, or just on their own with a vegetable of your choice.
Ingredients Needed for Broiled Spicy Party Shrimp
2 pounds medium to large shrimp peeled and deveined
1 package dry Italian dressing
3 tablespoons oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
cocktail sauce
How To Make Broiled Spicy Party Shrimp
Peel shrimp and add shrimp to a gallon-sized zip-top bag.
In a small bowl, whisk together dry Italian dressing, oil, garlic, cayenne pepper, and lemon pepper until all is combined. Pour over the shrimp. Toss to coat well.
Place in the refrigerator and let marinate for 2-4 hours.
Set oven to broil.
Arrange shrimp on a foil-lined baking sheet in a single layer. You may need to do this in batches or 2 pans at a time. Discard marinade. Place pan in the oven on the top rack and broil for about 4 minutes. Take out of the oven and flip the shrimp. Place back into the oven and broil for 3-4 more minutes.
Serve on a platter. Add toothpicks for easy serving.
Serve cocktail sauce to the side.
**When broiling, watch closely!! You do not want to burn your food. I always keep my oven door slightly open to watch the food on the top rack. Believe me, I have burned my share of food in the past, trying to broil it.
Serve with your favorite cocktail sauce.
