Caramel Pecan Rolls are great for weekend mornings because they offer indulgence without the fuss. A couple of cans of cinnamon rolls will cut your prep time down significantly.

Imagine waking up to the aroma of cinnamon, sugar, and pecans. These cinnamon buns will fill your kitchen with a fragrance that sets the tone for a cozy day ahead. You can enjoy an excellent breakfast without spending hours in the kitchen—a fantastic way to awaken the senses and start the day with a smile.

These homemade sticky buns taste as if you measured cups of flour in a large mixing bowl and waited a few hours for a soft dough to rise. There is no instant yeast or dragging out your mixer. Canned cinnamon rolls are a shortcut for the perfect breakfast, and I could eat the whole pan myself. They are fabulous the next morning for an on-the-go breakfast as well.

How To Serve Caramel Sticky Buns

You have the option to either carefully invert the entire pan onto a platter (please do so carefully as these rolls are hot!), creating a stunning display of caramelized goodness, or you can remove the rolls individually, ensuring each one is served bottom-side-up for that perfect presentation.  It’s important to quickly remove them from the baking pan since the caramel tends to cool rapidly on the bottom of the pan, making it difficult to remove the buns from the baking dish.

Perfect Caramel Sticky Buns

Recipe Tips:

  • Before you begin, make sure all of your ingredients are ready.
  • Use a 9″x 13″ deep baking pan. You don’t want the caramel to boil over.
  • Be careful with boiling sugar. The caramel sauce is very hot.
  • Evenly spread the caramel pecan topping in the bottom of the baking pan.
  • Remove the sweet rolls immediately after baking. The caramel will begin to set, making it difficult to get them out of the pan.

Recipe Variations:

  • Make homemade cinnamon rolls.
  • If you have family members (like I do) who don’t like nuts, omit them from the recipe.
  • Swap out the pecans with walnuts or add extra pecans if desired.
  • Top with maple syrup for a maple pecan flavor.

Storage Tips

Leftover sticky buns should be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. They are sticky, so I don’t advise using plastic wrap if you can help it. You can refrigerate them if desired. They are delicious the next day when warmed slightly.
