I love to make casseroles. They are fast, and they are easy. Everything is mixed together and popped into the oven. Some people have a love-hate relationship with them. I personally love them.

Why Should I Make Chicken Casserole?

Casseroles are perfect for weeknight dishes. They are easy to assemble, and the oven does all of the work. This casserole is loaded with a lot of different flavors- cream cheese, sour cream, chicken, and cream of chicken soup. It tastes like a bite of creamy heaven. Absolutely delicious!

My daughter has requested this dish to be served every week. She loves it! She commented that this was probably her favorite casserole that I have made! Wow! That is the kind of comment you want to hear from your family. It is on our dinner rotation-just not sure if I will serve it EVERY week. 

Ingredients for Creamy Ritz Cracker Chicken Casserole

*Chicken

*Onions

*Cream of Chicken Soup

*Sour Cream

*Cream Cheese

*Seasonings

*Ritz Crackers

*Butter

How to Make Creamy Ritz Cracker Chicken Casserole

  1. Spray an 8″ x 11″ casserole dish with non stick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chicken, onion, soup, sour cream, cream cheese, and seasonings. Mix well until  everything is combined.
  3.  Pour into a prepared casserole dish and top with crushed Ritz Crackers.
  4.  Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  5.  Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes.

Tips for Making Creamy Chicken Casserole Recipe

If you are short on time, pick up a rotisserie chicken from the store. This will cut down on time and the prep work for preparing this dish. You might also place a chicken or chicken tenders in the crock pot in the morning. The chicken will be ready and waiting on you when you return home. 

Can I Make this Dish Ahead of Time?

Absolutely! Prepare this dish through step 4. Cover and refrigerate until you are ready to bake. I have made this casserole 1 day ahead of time, and it was fine. Just pull out of the refrigerator and bake for about 40 minutes. 

What To Serve with Creamy Chicken Casserole

You have all kinds of options to serve with this casserole. I usually serve corn, green beans, or a side salad, but the choice is yours. Add some crusty bread, and you have a fabulous dinner for your family.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds chicken tenders cooked and diced OR a rotisserie chicken
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 10.5 ounce can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon each salt, pepper, and garlic powder
  • 1 sleeve Ritz Crackers crushed
  • 1/2 stick butter, melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray an 8 x 11-inch casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine chicken, onion, soup, sour cream, cream cheese, and seasonings. Mix well until everything is combined.
  • Pour into the casserole dish and top with crushed Ritz Crackers.
  • Drizzle melted butter over the top.
