Graham Cracker Pie Crust– A premade graham cracker crust is what I usually use for this easy recipe. A store-bought crust is usually found in my pantry. But feel free to make your own crust. A homemade crust is easy and can be done quickly. Check out my Strawberry Cheesecake Bars for how to make a graham cracker crust from scratch.

Sweetened Condensed Milk– Just one can of sweetened condensed milk has all of the sweetness this pie needs.

Kool-Aid Packet– Choose your favorite flavor Kool-Aid powder packet for your pie.

Cool Whip– I like to use a silicone spatula to fold in the Cool Whip. Be gentle when folding it in to keep it light and fluffy.

The Best Kool-Aid Flavor Options

There are so many great options and Kool Aid flavors on the grocery store shelf. Which flavor is the best? This recipe is completely customizable, and the flavor choices seem quite endless. I have yet to try them all, so the option is yours.  A few of my favorites are pink lemonade, grape, and lemon-lime. Tropical punch was not my favorite, but it might be yours.

Different Kool-Aid Pies

Changing out the flavors of Kool-Aid will yield a different pie every time. You can change the colors with different flavors of Kool Aid for holidays and celebrations—for instance, Eater. You might choose pastel colors such as lemonade, pink lemonade, grape, or orange—4th of July- blue raspberry lemonade, and strawberry. You get the idea. Get creative, and whatever you choose will undoubtedly be a good choice.

Adding Fresh Fruit to Your Pie

Adding some fruit to your pie will jazz it up a bit. Ensure you have washed, dried/drained your fruit before adding it to the pie. Chop your fruit into small pieces and mix well with the condensed milk, Kool-Aid mix, and Cool Whip.

Strawberry Kool-Aid Pie– add some fresh chopped strawberries to the mix. You might even add some sliced strawberries to the top of the pie before serving.

Orange Kool-Aid Pie– Try adding some chopped mandarin oranges to the mix. This will give it some added flavor and texture.

Cherry Kool-Aid Pie– Add some chopped cherries to the mix. Then add some chopped cherries to the top with more Cool Whip.

Recipe Tips and Variations

There are so many Kool-Aid flavors to try, and I still haven’t tried them all. A few of my favorite flavors are lemonade, pink lemonade, grape, lemon-lime, blue raspberry lemonade, and orange.

*Use your favorite flavors.

*Add more whipped topping to the top of the pie.

*Chill for at least 3-4 hours before serving.

*Make grab-and-go servings with mini pie crusts.

*A make-ahead dessert that is easy to transport.

How to Store Kool-Aid Pie

Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to a week. Then, keep the pie covered with the plastic lid that comes with the pie crust, or store it covered in an airtight container. You may also wrap it tightly in plastic wrap if the top accidentally gets tossed during dessert.

One bite of this pie will have you reminiscing about your childhood summertime days. You’ll have feelings of nostalgia that will take you back in time to hot summer days, a glass of cold Kool-Aid, and Big 60 Cookies. A childhood favorite then and still a favorite today.

Recipe FAQs

This pie will set in about 2 hours, but I usually allow 3-4 hours for the pie to set and chill.

This pie will last for up to 5 days in the refrigerator. My pies usually last only a short time before they disappear.

I do not recommend freezing Kool-Aid pie. The texture would not be the same after it thaws.
